Film Scoring Master Class
This course (as taught at the University of Miami) prepares the student for any genre of film. It is a detailed, "hands-on" approach to the character study, the mechanics of syncing music to image along with exposure to Chris' wealth of personal experience.
Advanced Film Scoring
Designed as a continuation of the Film Scoring Master Class, this course emphasizes the practical application of concepts and information presented in the Film Scoring Master Class with an emphasis on scoring different musical genres.
Adaptive Music
In video games the music has to follow the game play. This means that game music requires a different approach. This course introduces the student to "adaptive music", middleware, looping, leitmotifs and more.
The Business of Music Production
When you leave the amateur ranks and become a professional (accept money for your services) responsibilities change. You will have to:
- Understand the clients needs and desires
- Create a budget
- Manage the process
- Deliver on time and on budget.
This course covers all of the above and provides practical feedback in a group seating.
Music For Media
This course prepares the student to:
- Work video in a DAW
- Write main title themes
- Write for commercials
- Analyze Scenes
Event Production
As a freelancer, today's musician actually is running a business. And, if you are in the business of performing or producing, branding, creating and managing an event or performance, promotion and analyzing the success or failure of the project lies with the musician.
This course covers all aspects of event production, personal branding, social media marketing, managing the event and post event evaluation.
Modeling - Learning by example
This course introduces the student to analyzing pop songs and then creating a facsimile that incorporates the basic elements of the original. Covering multiple musical genres and instrumentations, the student learns how to write and notate rhythm section parts, are exposed to multiple musical genres and basic production techniques.
Building Your Business
In today's world every musician has to combine their passion for music with the responsibility of running a business. This course is designed to introduce the freelance musician to the world of business.
